Mayhew Dental

She started working with Bruce in 1983 as a Dental Nurse and qualified in November 1984. She left in 1988 to start a family rejoining the team in 1993 and then trained at the Eastman Dental Hospital to be a Dental Hygienist and returned to the practice in 1995 working part time during school hours so as to always be there for her children. After 12 years as a Hygienist she decided to stretch myself further and trained for a year at the Bristol Dental Hospital to become a Dental Therapist qualifying in 2006. As well as her hygiene duties she is now able to carry out all the fillings for adults and children as long as Bruce has examined them first and written out a treatment plan/referral.

She first joined the Practice in 1989, left to have a family and rejoined the team in the year 2000. She is now a part-time Dental Surgery Assistant and Consultant. Her role is to help in all aspects of the Practice and is, therefore, a varied and interesting position. She enjoys talking to patients and helping them to understand what treatment is necessary and the alternative options that are open to them. She is also nurse for Bruce when his nurse is away or on other duties.

She is qualified as a dental nurse in 1998 and joined the Practice in September, 2002; She has since qualified as a Dental Health Educator. She loves her job very much, especially the cosmetic dentistry side; there is a real sense of achievement and pride when a patient leaves the Practice totally delighted with their new appearance! Bruce and the team are great to work with; they have fantastic patients and she is proud of the high standards they have achieved.

I qualified from Guy's and Kings College London in 2004. I also have a postgraduate diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons and a MSc in Dental Implants from Warwick University. I enjoy working with such a brilliant and supportive team. We work together to ensure each person coming to see us has a great experience. We strongly believe in preventative dentistry at the practice and do our best to educate all our patients in the best way to look after their oral health and avoid dental problems in the future. I have two young boys and enjoy seeing children. Our specially allocated children sessions in the school holidays are a great way to focus on children in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. I enjoy all sides of dentistry but particularly look forward to providing Dental Implants at the practice
