Harborne Dental Practice

Qualified from the University of Birmingham School of Dentistry in 1997 as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery.She worked as a vocational trainee for 12 months at Harborne Dental Practice under the supervision of Christopher Gattas, and then achieved her own contract in August 1998. Kirsty then worked as an Associate Dentist here until she became Principal Dentist at Harborne Dental Practice and Implant Centre in 2006.Kirsty in constantly investing in the practice, both in the continuing professional development of all her team, and in terms of equipment and technology.

Mrs Traci O Shaughnessy has worked in Dentistry for 19 years. She qualified as a dental nurse from Birmingham Dental Hospital and has worked in both private practice and within the Dental Hospital. She became Deputy Senior Dental Nurse of the Periodontal Department and the field supervisor/ research nurse for the GlaxoSmithKline clinical trials unit with Birmingham Dental Hospital.

Antonia studied dentistry at the University of Birmingham, qualifying in 1997. Following graduation, she worked both in general dental practice and in the hospital setting to complete her general professional training. During this time, she gained experience in all fields of dentistry including paediatric, restorative, oral medicine and surgery.Antonia then worked an additional two years in oral maxillofacial surgery, and in 2001, was admitted as a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.She started Orthodontic specialist training at Bristol Dental Hospital in 2002, and gained the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Edinburgh in 2005. During this time, she was also awarded the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (Orthodontics) from Bristol University.Antonia has also lead a clinical trial and been published in The Angle Orthodontist in January 2006 (Vol 76, Issue 1).Antonia is registered as a Specialist Orthodontist with the General Dental Council (GDC number 73055) She is also a member of the British Orthodontic Society and attends conferences and postgraduate training courses.Away from orthodontics, Antonia is married, lives in Bimingham, and has two young daughters.BDS, MFDS, RCPS, MOrth and DDS
