Kevin graduated from Newcastle Dental School in 1991. He has been actively involved with the training and mentoring of younger dentists. He continued his professional development by studying for the Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies from Bristol University following which he passed his membership examinations for the Faculty of General Dental Practice at the Royal College of Surgeons. In addition Kevin has completed both the Sheffield University Dental Implant Foundation course and the 15 month implant training pathway at Newcastle Dental Hospital. Kevin has a strong interest in providing cosmetic braces and has invested in becoming a certified provider for Invisalign, Six Month Smiles and the Inman Aligner brace systems.

Richard is an adopted Geordie, having spent the last 21 years in Newcastle. He graduated from Newcastle in 1995. After 18 months in practice, he travelled extensively through SE Asia and Australia, spending time as lead dentist on Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean. On returning to the UK, Richard developed his skills in Restorative and Implant dentistry, attending both Sheffield and Manchester University for postgraduate training in these areas. This was then followed by a teaching post at Newcastle Dental Hospital, running in parallel with his position in private practice. Richard has passed both the MFGDP and MJDF Royal College of Surgeons exams and is now the tutor for the northern region for the Faculty of General Dental Practice, helping young and aspiring dentists attain this demanding qualification.

Originally from Cumbria, Rob came to the North East to study Dentistry in 1988. Following successful completion of his Dental degree, Rob went on to study Medicine, completing his 5-year MBBS qualification from Newcastle Medical School in 1999.During this time, Rob worked in General Dental Practice giving him valuable experience of dentistry outside of a hospital setting. Rob has a wealth of experience in medicine and surgery, working in general and vascular surgery, accident and emergency and orthopaedics, before finding his home in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.Rob became a Consultant at Sunderland Royal Hospital in 2009. As consultant, Rob has been involved in delivering training and education. Rob lectures on the national General Implant Foundation Training course.He has published numerous scientific papers, contributed chapters to numerous medical books and chaired the Maxillofacial Reconstruction session at the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons 87th annual meeting in Boston Massachusetts.At Higgins & Winter Dental Practice, Rob often becomes involved in complex implant treatments. Rob has extensive experience of providing All-On-4 “teeth in a day” and complex cosmetic cases at the front of the mouth. Rob is also able to provide full mouth reconstruction where there is insufficient bone for conventional implants, by using the latest technology with zygomatic implants.Outside of work Rob is a family man, is fanatical about photography and enjoys cycling, windsurfing, 
skiing, mountaineering and SCUBA diving.

Emma graduated from Newcastle dental school in 2000. Following a year’s postgraduate vocational training, Emma developed her skills working over a 10 year period in a vibrant general practice in Newcastle.Being committed to continually develop her professional skills, in 2011, Emma took the opportunity to study for an extra two years at the renowned Paul Tipton’s Academy in Manchester. This postgraduate education focuses on advanced skills in the provision of high quality dentistry. As part of this training, Emma received advanced training in cosmetic and restorative techniques such as Smile Design, Bonding, Veneers, Crowns and Bridges. Emma is also a certified provider of cosmetic tooth straightening systems and is a member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.Emma is thrilled to have returned back to the North East to continue to continue her work as a friendly compassionate dentist. Her aim is to help people overcome their anxiety of dentistry, whether it is for simple treatment or cosmetically improving the appearance of their smile.Emma also has a keen eye on facial aesthetics and is trained in facial rejuvenation procedures using wrinkle-relaxing injections, dermal fillers and PRP skin revitalisation techniques.Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis and learning the art of Yoga.
