Cherrytree Dental Care

Cathy qualified from Queens University of Belfast in 1998. She has worked in general practice in Oxfordshire for over 10 years since then. She took over the running of Cherrytree Dental Care in 2005 with her husband, Robert Hughes, also a dentist based in nearby Eynsham. Following 5 years of intensive postgraduate study, in 2010 Cathy was awarded a distinction in a MSc in Advanced General Dental practice through the University of Birmingham. This Masters degree provides Cathy with advanced, certified training in all aspects of dentistry including periodontology (gum disease), endontology (root canal treatment), restorative dentistry (crown and bridgework, treatment of worn teeth and provision of dentures), aesthetic dentistry, implant treatment planning. Thus Cathy has a wide knowledge base and experience to enable her to best help patients with any problem in general dental practice whether simple or advanced. In addition she has attended lectures and clinical coaching courses on cosmetic dentistry and the restoration of implants, has published research on sports-guards and continues research in patient communications. Cathy is deeply committed to the provision of high quality patient care, encompassing not only exemplary treatment standards but personal attention to ensure every patient feels truly looked after. Cathy is very fulfilled providing high quality dental care for her patients part-time balanced with part-time motherhood! She has 2 boys, Willem, was born in 2009 and Matthew in December 2010

Jens qualified from the University of Regensburg, one of Germany’s top dental schools in 2005. He commenced practicing in the U.K. shortly thereafter by joining a four surgery dental practice in Oxford. He continued research at the University of Regensburg (Germany) and successfully completed his doctorate dental studies degree achieving a magna cum laude in 2007. He has since completed a range of advanced dental postgraduate studies including dental Implant training in Association with Warwick University , Training in Management of Facial Pain and Headaches at Harvard Medical School, Boston USA, aesthetic dentistry courses, postgraduate course in Evidence based dentistry at University of Oxford, with an aim to provide dentistry to a very high standard. He is particularly interested in helping nervous patients to regain and keep a healthy and beautiful smile and has achieved his Diploma in Dental Hypnosis at University College London in Association with Eastman dental Institute. He joined our practice in January 2009 and continues to work in a private dental practice in Eynsham, Oxfordshire. Currently Jens is studying part time at Warwick University for his Master dental degree (M.Sc.) in Orthodontics.
