Dr Etienne Potgieter qualified at the university in Pretoria, South Africa, in 1984 and worked in Pretoria until he moved to London in 1989 for 15 years. He had a cosmetic implant practice in Putney, SW London before returning to the Strand in South Africa in 2004. A work offer and hundreds of patients’ pleading made him and his family return to Putney to open up a new dental practice again here in Putney.He returned to London during August 2008, and after working in Purley, opened the Gentle Dental Putney practice which started booking private patients on 14th September 2009.

Dr. Johann Styger is an implant dentist who has been practicing for several decades. He has been a part of implant dentistry to help others improve the health and beauty of their smiles. With a diploma from Lille University in Implantology, he has the experience to provide implants for the best aesthetic results. He continues to improve his education on implant dentistry by completing courses on aesthetic dentistry at the Rosenthal Institute of New York, having achieved master level there in 2005. He is also an instructor, and became a member of Gentle Dental Putney in 2013.

She brings a wealth of experience to Gentle Dental Putney. She has worked in several private practices and owned her own dental office in the UK. Ilze has a special interest in giving patients the confidence they deserve by delivering optimum smiles, with care individualized to their specific needs. She accomplishes this with a range of services including simple gum treatments, whitening, straightening (she is a certified Invisalign provider), and complex smile makeover techniques. Dentistry is a constantly evolving field. Ilze keeps her knowledge and skills up to date with an on-going focus on continuing education and training. She also works closely with specialists in other disciplines to develop the best possible treatment plan for each patient. Ilze is fluent in English and Afrikaans, and has a solid understanding of French and Dutch languages. When she isn’t at the dental centre, she enjoys all the good things life has to offer – architecture and design, health and fitness, skiing, outdoor activities, reading, and good food and wine.
