Abbey Road Dental private practice. Dr Diana Spencer, Dr David Bloom and Hygienist Melonie Prebble look forward to welcoming you to our lovely calm and relaxing clinic. We offer a full range of dental services including hygiene, cosmetic dentistry, implants adult orthodontics and teeth whitening. Debbie Wilks, our patient coordinator is always available for a chat either in person or by phone/email to answer any queries or concerns. .uk.
We offer late night opening one day a week and we will also be open on Saturdays to fit in with your busy schedule
Your first visit:
Please put aside any apprehension and nervousness on your part. Our aim is to put you at your ease and ensure that your visit to the dentist is enjoyablePlease allow up to one hour for your first visit. You will be asked to complete a registration form, as well as a short, confidential medical history form. We need to know about your medical history in order to treat you safely. During the initial meeting with the dentist we will discuss your concerns and the reason for your attendance.A thorough check will be carried out, including past dental history. An assessment of teeth, gums, soft tissues and an oral cancer check will then take place together with any necessary intraoral photographs and X rays.
All the options will then be discussed carefully so that you can make fully informed decisions and a treatment plan will be drawn up with an estimate which will be given to you.We will be happy to answer any further questions you may have at a subsequent appointment or you may prefer to telephone or email us for clarification.

Diana Spencer is an experienced and gentle dentist with a kind and empathic approach. She was the principal for nearly 20 years in private practice in Islington north london and latterly worked in St Albans in Hertfordshire.She offers a calm and considered approach to the art of dentistry and takes all the time required to formulate treatment plans with the cooperation and understanding of the patient. All treatments are offered including Hygienist services, whitening and cosmetic dentistry and most especially, general and childrens dentistry with an emphasis on the care of nervous patients
- Dr David BloomAssociate Dentist
A graduate of the Newcastle-upon-Tyne Dental School in 1989. Prior to joining Abbey Road Dental in St John’s Wood, Dr Bloom has been a dentist at the same location since 1990 focusing on comprehensive restorative and cosmetic dentistry. This gives him a fairly unique perspective of what works and doesn’t work for patients in the long-term An accredited member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, David is also the former President of the BACD 2008. He is a fellow of the International Academy of Dental Facial Aesthetics. David was Highly commended Dentist of the year - Southern Region at the Dental Awards 2009. David is on the editorial board of the International journal of Cosmetic Dentistry- the official journal of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry David is an associate clinical teacher at the institute of clinical education, Warwick medical school and instructs and lectures on all aspects of photography and cosmetic dentistry.
- Miss Melonie PrebbleAssociate Dentist
A member of the dental industry for over 20 years, Mel qualified as a dental hygienist and Therapist at The London Hospital Medical College in 1995. Her experience has led her to focus on Preventive Family Dentistry. Her Key strengths focus on treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, preventive care programmes, including fissure sealants and comprehensive care along with complex restorative dentistry including dental implants. Mel is a national speaker in the field of Comprehensive Care, Team Building and Dental Hygiene related topics and a regular contributor to dental journals. Mel sits on the Dentistry Awards Judging Panel and is past Chair of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy London Region. Mels favourite aspects of her job are working with people to keep a healthy smile for life. Mel enjoys all aspects of her clinical expertise and has a flair for teeth whitening and preventive dentistry.
