Birchfield Dental Practice

Hamish is the owner and senior partner of Birchfield Dental Practice. He graduated from Glasgow University in 1991 with several awards and went on to do his postgraduate qualifications at Oxford University. Hamish was president of the Wessex branch of the British Dental Association, his other professional affiliations include membership of the Wessex Dental Implant Study Group and the British Occlusion Society. Hamish has undertaken advanced training in Cosmetic Dentistry under the instruction of some of the UK's leading Cosmetic Dentists. He has a special interest in patients with complex treatment needs, bites and Jaw Joints (TMJ). Outside of work Hamish enjoys cycling, charity work and spending time with his family, he is married with 3 children and lives locally.

Matthew is originally from Brisbane, Australia. He qualified from the University of Queensland in 1992 and worked in private practice in Brisbane for several years. In 1996 Matthew moved to the UK and joined a private practice in London where he worked for 5 years. In 2002 Matthew and his family moved to New Milton and he joined Birchfield Dental Practice as an associate before later becoming a partner of the practice. Matthew enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has a passion for treating nervous patients, helping them to overcome their dental fears and phobias. Outside of work Matthew enjoys spending time with his family and going diving.

Roland qualified from Birmingham University in 1985 and went to work within the National Health Service in Aylesbury as an associate. Roland then moved to Milton Keynes working in a large NHS practice until 1993 when he relocated to the South and joined a mixed practice in New Milton where he was a partner for 10 years. In 2002 Roland joined Birchfield Dental Practice and is now a partner here. Roland has always enjoyed the variety of general practice and is able to provide all routine dental care on a fully private basis. Outside of work Roland is a keen sportsman, enjoying all outdoor activities. He has a real passion for Scuba Diving and is a member of BSAC (British Sub Aqua Club). Rolands other hobbies include walking and photography

Philip is our Associate Dentist and is responsible for providing high quality care and service to our National Health Service patients. Originally from Greece, Philip moved to the UK at the age of 7 and went on to study at King’s College London where he graduated with Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2008. Philip has a great deal of experience working within the NHS as well as experience of treating traumatic dental issues. Philip lives locally with his wife and child and enjoys cycling and spending time with his family.

After working as a Dental Nurse for a number of years, Rachel went on to study BSc in Dental Hygiene & Therapy at the University of Portsmouth Dental Academy where she developed extensive clinical experience in periodontal, adult restorative and pediatric dental care and worked closely with a specialist periodontist. In 2014 Rachel was awarded The Tepe Oral Hygiene Communication Award for her ability to motivate and communication with patients effectively and my impeccable chairside manner.
