Clare graduated from her home city Liverpool University Dental Hospital in 2007 and immediately began working in general dental practice. She provides daily access to new NHS patients providing emergency and general dental treatment. Since graduating Clare has trained extensively in her special interests of Invisalign and Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment), and she is currently working towards her post-graduate Masters degree in Endontology. Clare accepts referrals from other dentists and runs a dedicated clinic to provide these specialised services at Haymans Green. “Many patients I see have not attended the dentist in a long time and think their teeth are beyond repair. However with the latest advances in technology and materials we are able to save teeth with root canal treatment. Most people get nervous by just saying the name but it’s just like having a filling and it’s better than losing your tooth!” “It’s amazing what a difference Invisalign can make to your teeth. It’s so popular with adults and teenagers who don’t want to wear traditional train-track braces.”

He then spent three years in general dental practice before coming principal of Haymans Green Dental Practice in 2005. In 2006 James began his training towards his special interest in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, completing advanced courses in endodontics and smile design. He followed this by graduating from the Rosenthal Institute, New York by completing the Aesthetic Advantage program. James has performed over one hundred smile designs working closely with dental laboratories in the U.K., New York and California to provide the highest quality in cosmetic dental materials to his many satisfied patients. “Most patients I see are nervous, self-conscious of their teeth and think that nothing can be done. They’re always surprised at the options available and how we can help them. Sometimes very little treatment can make such a dramatic change. The most satisfying part of the job is not only seeing the difference in a person’s teeth, but the difference in the person; more confident, smiling and not worrying about coming to the dentist.”

He completed his Vocational Training in Belfast prior to his appointment at University Hospital Aintree / Liverpool University Dental Hospital where he began his oral and maxillofacial training in 1998. Shortly after this he began placing and restoring implants in both private practice and the hospital setting. He gained membership to the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow) in 2000 and followed this in 2002 by achieving the SAAD standard in intra-venous sedation. Stephen now works solely in general practice with special interest in surgical dentistry and implantology. He has a special contract with Liverpool PCT (dentist with special interest) to provide surgical dentistry on referral and works along side a fully qualified anaesthetist. Stephen has studied at Dental implant Master-Classes throughout Britain, Europe and America in advanced implant techniques such as sinus grafting and lifting, guided bone regeneration, bone grafting, implants in the aesthetic region and smile design with implants. Stephen is a mentor for the world renowed ‘Strauman Dental Implant System’ and for the postgraduate students undertaking the MSc in Dental Implantology at Salford University. He is the Clinical Director of Liverpool Implant Centre. Stephen welcomes referrals for surgical dentistry with or without intravenous sedation and any extractions with intravenous sedation. He would also be happy to accept referrals for all aspects of implant dentistry for: treatment planning, implant placement, restoration and continual care. Referring practitioners are welcome to be present for any stage of implant treatment.
