Roy graduated from Liverpool Dental School in 1987, obtaining his MFGDP from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2006 and his Diploma in Dental Sciences from Liverpool University in 2008. In 1995, he joined a private practice www.whitbydental.com and became a senior partner in 1998. He has divided his time between the practice and postgraduate teaching teaching over the last 20 years. Roy is committed to the highest standards of clinical care and to the ongoing process of postgraduate education. He has a special interest in care of nervous patients, delivering sedation training and mentoring to sedation teaching to dental teams. Accreddited by IACSD to teach and run a IV Sedation hands on course.

Vanessa started dental nursing in 1987 she gained her NEBDN national certificate in 2002. In the same year she undertook her formal training in Conscious Sedation qualifying in 2003 and enjoyed working in practice until 2005. After spending time at home with her young family Vanessa changed direction and undertook her training to become a dental nurse assessor gaining her A1 award in 2009. As an adjunct to her training Vanessa also undertook a level 3 qualification in health and social care which has helped her wider understanding of non clinical requirements, CQC and safeguarding regulations. Vanessa joined Whitby Dental Practice in May 2012 as a part time sedation nurse where she has taken courses in implant nursing, impression taking and treatment co ordination. Currently her main role is as treatment coordinator. Alongside her duties at Whitby Vanessa has worked closely with Dr Roy Bennett and Mellow Dental in their sedation training courses. Vanessa is married with 4 children and is a keep fit fanatic. She is an active campaigner and fundraiser for RNIB and a disabilities rights campaigner.

Giju graduated from medical school in Manipal, India in 1997, then completed his MD in Anaesthesiology in Manipal before moving to practice in the UK in 2002. He joined the specialist registrar rotation in Mersey Deanery in 2004, obtained his CCST in May 2009 and has been working as a Consultant Anaesthetist since. His special areas of work are in cancer, endocrine and dental surgery. Most of his working week is in dental general anaesthetics and paediatric chair dental. He also works with special care dentistry, providing sedation for special needs patients.
